Zimbabwe Lock Officials Assets Suspected of Money Laundering

The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) has locked the assets of 4 individuals accused of being part of a gold-smuggling and money-laundering consortium.
According to The Herald newspaper, the FIU has locked the assets of Fredrick Kunaka, general manager of Fidelity Printers and Refiners, and three others presumed of being accomplices in the illegal scheme.
The RBZ’s gold-buying subsidiary is Fidelity Printers and Refiners.
Others that have had their assets frozen include Cleopas Chidodo, the head of security at the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe, David Chirozvi, the head of finance at the RBZ’s Aurex Jewellery, and Mehlululi Dube, who is affiliated with a firm called Golden Beryl Limited.
