Tyson Fury cancels his British bout with Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury

Tyson Fury, the British heavyweight champion, canceled his scheduled match with British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua after missing The Gypsy King’s deadline.

Joshua and Fury previously agreed to terms for their fight in December after Fury offered Joshua a shot at the belt after Joshua’s defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in their title rematch last month.

Joshua stated that the deal is handled by his attorneys and that he would sign it on Sunday to make the fight happen.

Fury, though, set Joshua a deadline of Monday at 5:00 p.m. to sign the contract or he will withdraw from the fight.

Joshua and his team missed the deadline to sign the contract, and the WBC champion later declared that there was no way the all-British heavyweight match would take place.

“It’s official. D Day has come and gone. It’s gone past 5 pm Monday, no contract has been signed. It’s officially over for Joshua. He’s now out in the cold with the wolfpack. Forget about it. Idiot. Coward!,” Tyson Fury said on his instagram story.

He added: “I always knew you didn’t have the minerals to fight the Gypsy King. Good luck with your career, and your life.”

Fury quickly declared that he is eager to face Mahmoud Charr, the former WBA heavyweight champion, next.

Looking forward to battling a man who has passion and desire and wants to fight. battled some of the top boxers and am now stepping it up! “Charr, get in there,” he commanded.

Neither Joshua nor his camp have commented on the most recent development as of the time this report was filed.
