Twitter to Employ AI For Public Opinion Detection Manipulations
The owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, claims that artificial intelligence will soon be used on the microblogging site to identify and expose instances of public opinion manipulation.
“In the months ahead,” Mr Musk stated, “we will employ AI to detect & highlight manipulation of public opinion on this platform. What does the psy ops cat bring in….”
Mr Musk, who took over the micro-blogging site ownership in October 2022, stated this in a tweet in the early hours of Friday.
Using AI to detect and highlight manipulation on twitter could be a huge stride at reducing the use of social media for misinformation.
Citing an Oxford University research in 2019, New York Times revealed that 70 countries around the world have had disinformation campaigns championed by governments utilizing social media.
