In a shooting that occurred in Stockholm, Sweden on Saturday, a 15-year-old boy tragically died and three other people were injured, according to the police. A motive has not yet been determined.

Early that evening, police got reports of a shooting near a square in southern Stockholm, and they arrived to find two victims of gunshot wounds.

Nearby, two other people were discovered hurt.

While the others were being brought to the hospital, the adolescent passed away from his injuries.

Towe Hagg, a spokesman for the Stockholm police, informed AFP that the victim who passed away at the site was a kid, age 15.

A man and a woman between the ages of 45 and 65, as well as another 15-year-old kid, were also hurt, according to a statement from the police.

They reported that barely an hour after the incident, two males had been detained after a car chase south of Stockholm.

The police announced that they had opened a murder and attempted murder inquiry.

On Friday, two separate gunshots in the larger Stockholm region resulted in the injuries of an additional three individuals.

In recent years, Sweden has battled to control an increase in killings and explosions as gangs settle scores, spurred by the drug trade.

According to police records, the nation experienced 391 gunshots in 2022, 62 of which resulted in fatalities, an increase from 45 the previous year.
