Rewane Claim Diaspora Investments Could Surpass $50B

Mr. Bismarck Rewane, the Chief Executive Officer of Financial Derivatives Company Limited, is hopeful that the amount of money sent home by Nigerians living abroad will surpass $23 billion.
Rewane claimed in an interview for the 2023 Democracy Day show on Channels Television that Nigerians living abroad are returning to seek the return on their investments.
“The Nigerian diaspora flow, which is currently estimated to be about $23 billion, can actually go as high as $50 billion and can make up for the shortfall in the visible flows because they are coming back to seek the yield on their investments,” he claimed on Monday.
The economist also gave the federal government instructions to work on boosting public, investor, consumer, and manufacturer confidence.
