President Yoweri Museveni Urge Ugandans to Halt Spread of HIV/AIDS
In order to reduce the number of AIDS-related fatalities, President Yoweri Museveni has urged the populace to intensify the fight against the infection.
In a speech to the country, Mr. Museveni noted that although if the death toll was down from 25,000 in 2015 to 17,000 this year, it was still alarming.
According to the president, Uganda has achieved progress in reducing the number of new infections, which fell from 70,000 per year to 54,000 by 2021.
He remarked, “We have made progress, but the number is still large.”
