According to his agency, Paul Pogba will miss France’s World Cup defense because he needs more time to heal from knee surgery.

Rafaela Pimenta stated in a statement, “It is incredibly difficult to inform Paul Pogba will still need recuperation time from his surgery following yesterday and today’s medical reviews in Torino and Pittsburgh.

Paul won’t be allowed to join Juventus’ squad prior to the World Cup break or the French National Team in Qatar because of this.

The 29-year-old midfielder playing for Juve prior to the World Cup is “extremely doubtful,” according to Massimiliano Allegri, the team’s coach, who made that statement on Friday.

Earlier on Monday, the Italian media stated that Pogba’s thigh injury might keep him out for almost 15 days.

Paul Pogba needs to continue his rehabilitation program, according to Juve’s statement. “Paul Pogba, in light of the recent radiological scans completed… and the consultation carried out in Pittsburgh by Prof. Volker Musahl on the evaluation of his knee,” they added.

Twelve Juventus players are now facing injury, including Pogba.

Since rejoining Juventus from Manchester United in the summer, he hasn’t played for the club because he injured his right knee’s meniscus in July.

He initially decided against having surgery in an effort to participate in the Qatar competition, which begins on November 20.

Pogba altered his mind and decided to have surgery after returning to training at the beginning of last month, which kept him out of action until two weeks ago, when he began returning to limited training with Juve.

Pogba played a significant role in helping France win the World Cup in Russia four years ago. He scored in the championship game’s 4-2 triumph over Croatia.

He joins midfield partner N’Golo Kante, who is out for four months after undergoing surgery for a hamstring injury, in missing from Didier Deschamps’ roster.

Since being forced to leave the game against Tottenham in August with a limp, Kante, 31, had not appeared for Chelsea.

Missing the World Cup adds to Pogba’s difficult year, which also includes his suspected involvement in an extortion conspiracy involving his own brother.

The World Cup champion, Mathias Pogba, 32, and four other individuals were accused last month. The World Cup winner had complained to Turin authorities in July that he was being blackmailed for $12.6 million in 13 million euros.

According to Paul Pogba, his blackmailers sought to discredit him by making the false claim that he hired a witch doctor to put a spell on Kylian Mbappe, a player for Paris Saint-Germain and the France national team, which Pogba vehemently refutes.
