NPC Slated March 29 For Nationwide Census

The 2023 national population census will be performed, according to the National Population Commission (NPC), from March 29 to April 2.
After meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the state capital, NPC Chairman Nasir Kwarra said this while addressing with State House reporters.
The NPC manager said, “By March 29 to April 2, our employees will be in the field enumerating people.”
Kwarra assured that because the exercise will be done using cutting-edge technology, it will be different from the previous ones (which were mired in controversy).
The NPC boss emphasized that the census will be credible and that there won’t be any manipulation of the procedure.
He claimed that the committee will use satellite pictures, GPS, and has coded every building in the nation as a result.
The NPC chairman also revealed that the majority of Adhoc personnel recruitment is local, and that all 774 local governments have finished demarcating enumerated areas in preparation for the exercise’s April 2 conclusion.
“This census will be different from previous censuses,” he continued. The principle and practice are essentially the same, but since we’re conducting this census with cutting-edge technology, no figures can be tampered with. There shall be no double counting of anyone.
“We’re visiting households to do direct interface with the household and collect data, and in the past, if you’re doing an operational manually, it’s very cumbersome, but this is being aided by technology and I believe it’s going to be transparent and very fast, and it is going to be verifiable because we can provide data up to the local government, up toward level. Therefore, it is something you can always check.
