Nigeria has recalled Victor Osimhen for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers
After missing out on a recent US tour, Nigeria has recalled Napoli attacker Victor Osimhen for 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone and Sao Tome & Principe.
The 23-year-old striker, Victor Osimhen is one of several players who did not play in the Super Eagles’ pre-World Cup friendly matches in the United States but have been called up for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Ahmed Musa, Leon Balogun, Zaidu Sanusi, goalkeeper Adebayo Adeleye, Sadiq Umar, and Shehu Abdullahi are among the others.
Only goalkeeper Adewale Adeyinka of Akwa United and defender Sani Faisal of Katsina made the final cut after being part of the squad for the friendly matches against Mexico and Ecuador in the United States.
Nigeria will host Sierra Leone in Abuja on June 9 before traveling to Morocco on June 14 to face Sao Tome and Principe in another Group A tie.
