Neuralink, Elon Musk‘s manufacturing company for medical devices, is the subject of a government investigation for possible animal welfare breaches.
Internal personnel complained that the company’s animal testing was being rushed, resulting in unnecessary suffering and deaths, and sources close to the organization alleged that the corporation was under federal investigation for possible animal-welfare breaches.
According to the neurotechnology company, it is creating a brain implant that it thinks will allow paralyzed patients to regain their ability to walk and treat other neurological conditions.
Approximately 1,500 animals, including more than 280 lambs, pigs, and monkeys, have been killed as a result of tests since 2018, according to leaked corporate data obtained by a media source.
Musk and other Neuralink executives have not yet responded to the news, though.
