NBA Stars Headline Roster For D’Tigers In FIBA World Cup Qualifiers

15 players have been invited by D’Tigers coach Mike Brown for the fourth FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification window in 2023.
NBA stars Chimezie Metu of the Sacramento Kings and Josh Okogie of the Phoenix Suns are among the roster’s top players.
Others include Abdul-Malik Abu, Ike Nwamu, Ibe Aguchi, Michael Gbinijie, Michael Oguine, Michael Okiki, Keith Omoerah, Christian Mekowulu, Ben Emelogu, Amanze, Egekeze, Miye Oni, and Michael Okiki.
In order to complete the fourth qualifying window, Nigeria will play Cote d’Ivoire on August 26, Guinea on August 27, and Angola the following day.
Nigeria D’Tigers will play Cote d’Ivoire once again on February 24, Guinea once more on February 25, and Angola once more on February 26 in the fifth and final round of qualifiers.
The top two teams from each group, together with the best third-place team, will advance to the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, which will be held in the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia from August 25 to September 10.
Since they have met in Group A of the first round of qualifiers, Nigeria won’t play any games against Cape Verde or Uganda, who are both in Group E.
All teams’ first-round results will be carried over, and D’Tigers’ season was ended by a 91-72 drubbing of Uganda in Kigali on July 3rd.
With two victories and two losses from four games, Team Nigeria finished second behind Cape Verde with six points, one point behind the islanders.
Cote d’Ivoire, Angola, and Guinea each earned 10 points from their first-round victories in Group C, while Cote d’Ivoire won all six of its games.
South Sudan, Tunisia, Cameroon, Egypt, Congo DR, and Senegal make up Group F.
