Mmesoma Respond to JAMB Result Forgery Accusation
Ejikeme Mmesoma, a 2023 UTME candidate from Anambra State, claims that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) wrongfully accused her of falsifying her results.
Mmesoma described how she received the result from the JAMB portal and was shocked when she heard reports of falsified results in a video she posted that has gone viral.
“I printed the result from the JAMB portal,” she claimed. “I don’t know what they mean when they imply that I falsified my results. The accusation that I fabricated my own results has traumatized me. I am not able to fake results.
On Sunday, JAMB charged the candidate with “manipulating” her exam score this year.
In a statement released under the Board’s spokesman Fabian Benjamin, the Board stated that Miss Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma had actually earned a score of 249 rather than the 362 she had claimed. “She had fabricated her UTME score in order to mislead the public and obtain scholarships and other awards through fraud.”
The original Mmesoma result would be withdrawn, according to JAMB, who claimed that many candidates were displaying fraudulent results after using “funny software packages.”
The candidate was already reported to have received a N3 million scholarship from Innocent Chukwuma, the Innoson Motors company’s founder.
Mmesoma, however, claimed that she had excelled academically from kindergarten through high school and had even received a 300 on the Common Entrance test.
She expressed shock that JAMB had said she had fabricated her results even before the Department of State Services (DSS) could wrap up its inquiry.
Since then, the Anambra State Government has established an inquiry committee to investigate into the situation as well.
According to Nnaemeka Egwuonwu, a spokesperson for the state Ministry of Education, “meanwhile, the Anambra State Government has continued to celebrate Nkechinyere Umeh, who was declared the highest by JAMB, having scored a cumulative mark of 360, while security agents are investigating the allegation of falsification of result leveled against Ejikeme Mmesoma, who had earlier been showcased in the social media as having scored the highest.”
