Legendary Michael Jordan Shoes Sell At Auction For $1.38m

According to Goldin Memorabilia Marketplace, Michael Jordan‘s shoes from the infamous “Flu Game” of the 1997 NBA Finals sold at auction for $1.38 million on Thursday.
Michael Jordan and the Bulls, who won six NBA championships in the 1990s, made history while wearing the sneakers.
Prior to game five of the 1997 NBA Finals, in which Jordan played for Chicago despite feeling poorly, hot, and dehydrated due to a stomach bug, the Bulls and Utah were tied at two victories each.
The Bulls won 90-88, handing the Jazz their lone home playoff loss thanks to Jordan’s 38 points in 44 minutes and game-winning 3-pointer in the final seconds. Chicago went on to win the championship in six games, and Jordan was named the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player.
The sneakers, which belonged to a former Jazz ballboy, were initially sold at auction for about $105,000 ten years ago.
