Kenyan Emerge Winner of Access Bank Lagos City Marathon

Edwin Kibet Koech, a Kenyan, took first place in the seventh Access Bank Lagos City Marathon.

The 42-kilometer race’s 2023 edition was dubbed “Push the Limit.”

After two hours, fourteen minutes, and six seconds (2:14:06), the 39-year-old winner crossed the finish line ahead of Kenyan Bernard Sang and Ethiopian Dekeba Tafa, who placed second and third, respectively.

 

 

Alemeneshi Hereha Guta of Ethiopia won the women’s category, followed by Urisa Kebene Chala of Ethiopia and Naomi Maiyo of Kenya.

The marathon, which began in the early hours of Saturday at Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere and ended in Eko Atlantic City on Lagos Island, attracted a large number of participants from both Nigeria and abroad.
