Isreal Adesanya intends to “finish” Cannonier in his 6th title defense at UFC 276

In order to keep his Middleweight title, Israel Adesanya intends to “finish” Jared Cannonier in their UFC 276 main event on July 1 in Las Vegas.
In his exclusive pre-fight interview, “The Last Stylebender” expressed his belief that he would be “too much” for his American opponent, “The Killa Gorilla,” when they square off early on Sunday morning, Nigerian time, at the T-Mobile Arena.
After his last two fights went to the judges’ scores, he claimed that his strategy for this one will be calculated and patient, pulling Jared Cannonier apart before finally knocking or choking him out in an effort to disprove his detractors.
Adesanya acknowledges Cannonier’s strength, but the 32-year-old says he is not particularly concerned and that his strength does not make him any more dangerous. Instead, the fighter thinks he will counteract Cannonier’s major strength by moving around the Octagon cautiously.
Adesanya also mentioned that he and Cannonier used to get along well, but that won’t be the case in the lead-up to the fight after the American made derogatory remarks about him and vowed to treat him harshly, just like he did to Paulo Costa at UFC 253 on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi.
Isreal Adesanya who defend his title for the sixth time at UFC 256 after defeating Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 236 in 2019.
Since then, he has defeated Marvin Vettori, Yoel Romero, Paulo Costa, and also defeat Robert Whittaker (twice).
The UFC record of Adesanya is 22 wins and just one loss, while the record of Cannonier’s opponent is 15 wins and five losses.
