Ghanaian Hair Vendors Attack Nigerian For ‘Spoiling’ Business

Local businesses in Accra disrupted a “Ghana Wig Fair” that a Nigerian hair trader had organized by telling her to “go back to her country.”
Their displeasure was caused by the lower price the Nigerian vendor, Pricelesshairs, was charging for her items at the trade show.
After spending a lot of money importing wigs, unprocessed hair, and other cosmetics from Nigeria with the associated high customs fees, they charged her of trying to steal their customers.
After the vendor announced via her Instagram account that the fair would be held at Busia High Street in Sakaman, Accra, Ghana, the controversy surfaced. On May 1, 2023, she sold hairs of various grades for prices ranging from 100 Ghana Cedis to 10,000 Ghana Cedis.
In response to the commotion, a tiktoker claimed that the hair dealer had broken her promise to sell cheap hair.
The tiktoker wrote: “The hair price was expensive and the hair was cheap, she sold synthetic hairs at an inflated amount.”
