Following touchline altercation, FA confirmed Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte Sanctions

Following their altercation on the touchline, Thomas Tuchel was given a one-game touchline suspension with a £35,000 punishment that is currently postponed, while Antonio Conte was merely given a £15,000 fine.
Following his altercation with Tottenham manager Conte at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, Chelsea manager Tuchel has been found to be the more guilty party by an impartial regulatory body.
At the end of the game, both Conte and Tuchel received red cards. As they shook hands and parted ways, the Blues manager took issue with Conte’s refusal to look him in the eye.
After the final whistle at Chelsea, the two opposing coaches faced off against one another. Tension had grown between the two as they celebrated their teams’ goals in the second half, and they have since been accused of acting in a “improper” manner.
While they wait for written justification for Tuchel’s sentence and the different penalty imposed on Conte, Chelsea has used their right by asking to have Tuchel’s suspension lifted.
Both coaches, who also have the option of appealing, will therefore be in control of their teams’ games this weekend even though Tuchel is still facing the possibility of being suspended.
Conte avoided a touchline suspension but was fined £15,000 for his antics.
But Tuchel received a one-game suspension and a £35,000 fine instead.
Both managers will be in the dugout when Tottenham hosts Wolves at noon on Saturday and Chelsea visits Leeds on Sunday.
In addition, Tuchel was hit with a £35,000 fine as opposed to Conte’s £15,000 fine.
‘An independent Regulatory Commission has today decided that Thomas Tuchel be fined £35,000 and banned from the touchline for one match, and Antonio Conte be fined £15,000 after they each violated FA Rule E3,’ a representative for the FA stated.
Both managers, Antonio Conte and Thomas Tuchel, acknowledged that their conduct following the conclusion of the Premier League match between Chelsea FC and Tottenham Hotspur FC on Sunday, August 14, 2022, was improper and asked for a formal hearing.
“These sanctions are appealable, and Thomas Tuchel’s one match touchline ban has been temporarily suspended pending the independent Regulatory Commission’s written reasons for its judgments, which will be made public in due time,” reads the statement accompanying the suspension.
