DJ Jimmy Jatt, a seasoned Nigerian disc jockey also known as Oluwaforijimi Adewale Amu, posted on social media to mark six months since receiving a kidney transplant.

The well-known DJ, who underwent kidney transplant surgery on March 17, celebrated today by uploading a film to his Instagram page with the headline “A NEW LIFE: A kidney transplant Documentary.”

In the video, he chronicled his road to recovery and explained why he chose to get the surgery at the Zenith Medical and Kidney Center in Abuja rather than flying to the United States of America.

“A very successful kidney transplant (exactly 6months today) has futher deepened my appreciation for life’s most important things & gratitude to God,” he captioned his post.

Going further to explain in the video, which was recorded 10 days post-transplant, the celebrity said: “I’m excited. I’m happy I have a second chance at life. That is the most important thing to me.”

“I want to be the face of the survival of kidney disease. I didn’t want to be a victim. I’ve been through it and will now be very open to people generally, on any platform,” DJ Jimmy Jatt captioned.

“I cannot imagine pulling through this without my angels. My wife, my daughters, I love you beyond any words say. And to my siblings, where do I begin to thank you” DJ Jimmy Jatt wrote in his thank-you note for the support of his family and friends.
