Disney move forward with development on Maleficent 3 with Angelina Jolie

Maleficent, a Disney villain, was played by Angelina Jolie in a 2014 film. At the global box office, the first movie did pretty well, taking in more than $750 million. An immediate follow-up would have seemed to be in order, but Maleficent: Mistress of Evil didn’t arrive in theaters until 2019. It’s unclear whether moviegoers had forgotten about this movie by that point or whether the Disney marketing machine had failed, but that film’s $491 million worldwide box office receipts represent a significant decline.
According to industry insiders, the movie would have needed $500 million to break even. Although the film match may have prevented the villain from getting a final feature, many fans have been waiting for the studio to make an official announcement. Now we have news on the fate of Maleficent 3.
Maleficent, A Disney movie called is based on the story’s villain from The Sleeping Beauty. Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, and Lesley Manville all had supporting parts in addition to Angelina Jolie, who played the title role.
The 1991 animated picture Beauty and the Beast’s screenwriter Linda Woolverton provided the script for the first movie, which was directed by Robert Stromberg. At the time of its release, the movie earned the fourth-highest sum of money and garnered mixed reviews. Additionally, it became Jolie’s most lucrative movie.
Then, in the 2019 release Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, the antagonist Queen Ingrith of Ulstead (Michelle Pfeiffer), who is trying to wipe out all fairies, presented Maleficent and Aurora with their greatest struggle yet. The two films create a very cool magical world centered on the Sleeping Beauty characters, so it’s only reasonable to assume that Disney plans to continue the momentum with more films in the series.
