Davido, Burna Boy, Wizkid shine in AFRIMA 2022

Burna Boy, a singer and music producer from Nigeria, bags the 2022 artiste of the year for the All-Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), also he took home the prize for album of the year 2022 despite being missing from the ceremony in Dakar, Senegal.
The “Teranga” edition of the eighth AFRIMA saw various Nigerian artists win several prize categories.
Davido was named the best male performer in African inspiring music, the greatest duet or group in African Electro, and the musician with the best African collaborations.
Wizkid won the award for the best male artiste in West Africa, while Adekunle Gold was named the best artiste pair or group in African pop. The greatest worldwide act award went to Brazil’s Anitta, the AFRIMA legend award went to Senegal’s Ismael Lo, and Tems received the best soundtrack in movies, television shows, and documentaries honor.
The top performer, duet, or group in African traditional music is Azaya from Guinea. The best African pair, group, or band was Cavemen, starring Made Kuti from Nigeria.
ALA from Tunisia received the award for best male performer in Northern Africa, and Gutu Abera from Ethiopia took home the prize for best artiste pair or group in African Jazz.
Faouzia, a Moroccan musician, won awards for best female performer in Northern Africa and best African act abroad (female category). The top pair and group in African reggae, ragga, and dancehall music were Teddy Afro from Ethiopia and Fally Ipupa from central Africa, respectively.
African performers such as PSquare, Fave, Black O, Black Sheriff, Diere, and others thrilled their audience with upbeat performances.
