Paris Saint-Germain overcame Riyadh All-Star XI 5-4 in a thrilling friendly game on Thursday night in Saudi Arabia with to goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Al Nassr and Al Hilal, two of the top teams in the Saudi Arabian league, had players on the Riyadh All-Star team. Ronaldo was selected the team’s captain.
Only three minutes had passed in the much awaited match at King Fahd International Stadium when Messi opened the goal for his French team before Ronaldo, playing his first game for Saudi Arabia, equalized from the penalty spot.
The 37-year-old quickly began the well-known “sui” celebration, which was mimicked by tens of thousands of soccer supporters in the jam-packed stadium.
Before Ronaldo scored his brace to tie the game once more for the Saudi Arabian delegation shortly before halftime, Marquinhos gave PSG the lead once more.
At the hour mark of the game, both football greats were replaced. In the second half, Jang Hyun-soo and Talisca scored goals for Riyadh All-Star, and Sergio Ramos, Kylian Mbappe, and Hugo Ekitiké scored goals for PSG.
Lionel Messi and his French champions team won the thrilling game with a nine-goal thriller victory to take home the exhibition game trophy.
The game between the two football superpowers is probably going to be the last one.
