CAN Osun Chapter Protests Against Deborah Samuel’s Murder, Demands Justice

Deborah Samuel was killed for alleged blasphemy, according to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Osun State chapter.
Following the murder of a 200-level student at Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto State, the Association urged the Federal Government to guarantee that justice will be served.
Bishop Amos Kayode Ogunrinde, CAN Chairman in Osun State, declared this at a peaceful protest conducted by the organization at its secretariat in Owode Ede, Osun State.
He underlined that the action is completely unacceptable to the Association.
With posters reading “We Need Justice for Deborah,” “We Say No To Islamic Extremists,” and other slogans, they urged the government, authorities, and security agencies to act quickly and rectify constitutional violations before they escalate into a more serious conflict.
Deborah Samuel was slain and set burned on the college grounds on 12 May 2022 by several of her course mate for making blasphemous remarks.
