China Recalls 478 Faulty BMW K1600, K1600 GT Motorcycles From Nigeria

478 defective China BMW K1600 and K1600 GT motorcycles imported from Nigeria has been recalled
Due to defective shock absorbers, the BMW vehicle trade organization in China has recalled 478 K1600 and K1600 GT motorcycles.
This was revealed in a statement on Tuesday by Bisi Kazeem, a spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps.
According to Mr. Kazeem, “FRSC desires to call the attention of the motoring public, in particular those who are currently utilizing K1600 and K1600 GT Motorcycles with manufacturing dates of 28 June 2017 to 19 September 2018.” “This is because the affected motorcycles have been recalled by the producers, BMW vehicle trade firm, due to faulty shock absorbers.”
The BMW (China) Automobile Trading Company Limited reported that the withdrawal of the motorcycles began on September 7 in a memo sent by the office of the secretary to the government of the federation.
According to the FRSC representative, “The withdrawal is especially based on the fact that the hinged tie rods at the rear shock absorber cannot meet the intended strength and may break over time, providing a safety danger.”
The FRSC warned people not to sell these particular motorbikes and not to ride them on Nigerian roads, especially dealers and riders of them.
