Bayern Munich Clinch Best Club Ranking in the World
Bundesliga powerhouses Real Madrid of the La Liga and Manchester City of the Premier League were beaten out for the title of best club by Bayern Munich.
After analyzing each club’s data output during games, including goals scored, adjusted goals, shot-based expected goals, and non-shot expected goals, the UK-based site Safe Betting Sites arrived at its global Football Power Index rankings.
As a result of the analysis, each team’s offensive and defensive ratings are translated into a final Football Power Index score.
Despite possessing the third most valuable squad in the world (behind Manchester City and Chelsea), Bayern Munich, which won their record-breaking tenth consecutive league win last year, amassed a Power Index of 92.6 points out of 100 to claim the title of finest football club in the world.
With a market worth of €928 million, the German team moved up to third place in the list of the world’s most valuable clubs, per Transfer Market data. They are valued at €11 more than Liverpool, €25 million more than PSG, and €90 million more than Real Madrid, the current European champions.
Real Madrid dropped to seventh place in the Football Power Index as of January 13, 2023, with an index score of 84.4, while Manchester United finished eleventh with an index score of 81.2, missing the top ten.
Surprisingly, Newcastle United and Portuguese club Porto are in the top ten, with 81.7 and 81.5 points, respectively, for eighth and tenth place worldwide.
