“Any woman who attempts abortion is guilty of a felony and is liable to 7 years imprisonment” – Nigerian police warns
Any woman who seeks to obtain an abortion is guilty of a felony and deserves up to 7 years in prison, according to a warning from the Nigerian police.
This was announced on Twitter by Aliyu Giwa, a former Deputy PRO of the Lagos State Police Command.
He declared that anyone who tries to make a lady miscarry her child faces a 14-year prison sentence.
Then he continued, “Any woman who seeks to obtain her own abortion is guilty of a criminal and subject to a seven-year prison sentence.”
Additionally, it is a felony and punishable by up to three years in prison for anyone who provides medications or equipment to facilitate abortions.
