Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is Donating His $124B Wealth

Jeff Bezos, the creator of Amazon, has said that he will donate his $124 billion fortune.
This was disclosed by Jeff Bezos in a face-to-face interview with CNN. He stated that he intends to give the majority of his net wealth to charitable organizations during his lifetime; these funds will be used to fight climate change and to aid those who can help to mend racial and social barriers.
Bezos responded, “Yeah, I do,” when asked if he intended to donate the majority of his money during his lifetime.
Speaking from his home in Washington, DC, with his partner Lauren Sanchez, Bezos added:
“The hard part is figuring out how to do it in a levered way.
“It’s not easy. Building Amazon was not easy. It took a lot of hard work, a bunch of very smart teammates, hard-working teammates, and I’m finding — and I think Lauren is finding the same thing — that charity, philanthropy, is very similar.”
He did not give a precise percentage or say how the money will be used.
Jeff Bezos made his statement shortly after awarding Dolly Parton a $100 million prize for showing “love and compassion in every facet of her career.”
