After a remarkable 11,301-kilometer ride from London to Lagos, Mr Kunle Adeyanju finally arrives Nigeria

Kunle Adeyanju, a BIKER who had set out on a journey from London to Lagos, has finally arrived Nigeria.
Adeyanju, who set off on the race on April 19, 2022 and arrived in Nigeria on May 29, 2022, claimed he was doing it to collect money for the Rotary Club of Ikoyi Metro, which was trying to raise a total sum N100 million to fight polio.
In a personal note outlining his journey, Adeyanju wrote that the odometer readings on his bike suggested that he rode around 3,200 kilometers in Europe and 8,101 kilometers in Africa.
He described his travel throughout Africa, from north to south, as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Mr Kunle Adeyanju said, “Leaving the border, I rode alone for about 100km before rendezvous with the Burkina Faso bikers, who we continued the ride together. The 100km ride was through some of the remotest parts of the country, and all I saw were nice people and lovely vegetations, and hard-working people going about their daily lives.
“While in Mali, I was also opportune to meet with the Malian Prime Minister, who sent for me after coming across some of my write-ups on this adventure. I had quite an exciting time with the Prime Minister, a man I find to be down to earth, honest, unassuming and a fine gentleman.”
A flat tyre incident in a rural section of Mali could have caused him to miss his flight, but the people swiftly mended it, a gesture for which he was grateful.
He took advantage of the opportunity to urge leaders of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to reconsider the blockade put on Mali in response to the military coup, claiming that it would produce no positive results.
Adeyanju plans to auction the historical motorcycle he travelled from London to Lagos with, at a beginning offer of $25,000 as the starting price.
