5 Million Capacity New Airport To Be Built By LASG On The Lekki-Epe Axis

LASG Set To Construct New Airport On Lekki Epe

On the Lekki-Epe axis of the state, the Lagos State Government has stated its readiness to build a new airport.

On Thursday, the State Government organized a media parley at Alausa, Ikeja, where Mr. Ope George, the Special Adviser Governor on Public Private Partnerships (PPP), made the announcement.

He disclosed that the Federal Government has granted the Lagos, Nigeria, government, led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, permission to build a new airport.

He claims that the project, which is scheduled to begin in 2023, will be built on 3,500 hectares of land, noting that the master plan and aeronautical designs are in place; however, studies about strategies, funding, and other issues are still ongoing. After these studies are complete, the project will then be put on the market.

The Special Adviser added that both domestic and international investors will work together to build the airport, which is anticipated to serve at least five million people annually.
