3 employees arraign in court over N6M theft from Sweet Sensation

On Monday, three saleswomen were charged with stealing N6 million from the Sweet Sensation eatery. They appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court.
Oluwatosin Owa, a cashier, Esther Ogoke, a frontline officer, and Juliet Madueke, another frontline officer, are the accused.
They live in the Magodo, Alagbado, and Berger regions of Lagos State, respectively, and are ages 26, 35, and 25, respectively.
The defendants, who are all workers at Sweet Sensation, a LASUTH store in Ikeja, are accused of conspiring and stealing; they have all entered a not guilty plea.
The offenders committed the offenses on August 2 at the outlet, according to the prosecutor, Felicia Okwori, who testified in court.
According to Ms. Okwori, the theft was uncovered during an examination of the company’s financial records and involved the sales revenues from the past three years.
The prosecution claims that the offenses violate Sections 287 and 411 of the Lagos State Criminal Law from 2015.
The case was continued till October 5 for mention after the Magistrate, H. B. Mogaji, granted the defendants bail in the amount of N100,000 apiece with two sureties in the same amount.
