2023 Election : Aisha Yesufu asks Nigerians to support their candidates

Aisha Yesufu, a social activist, urged Nigerians on Friday to start supporting their candidates before the 2023 general election.
Aisha Yesufu argued that candidates shouldn’t be entitled to raise money for their campaigns in a post on her verified Twitter account.
“Imagine if one million people donated N1000 every week until the election. That will be N1 billion weekly. It can even be a healthy competition to see which state is donating the most.
“We must put our money where our votes are! We should not expect candidates to fund campaigns.
On June 10, 2022, the well-known activist declared her support for Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s nominee for president.
The discussion about political structure and which candidate in Nigeria possesses it in order to win the election might be compared to Yesufu’s counsel.
Funding a candidate of choice can also be perceived by some as creating a structure, despite the fact that some political parties or candidates claim to lack the structure necessary to fight against other strong parties. This is because some Nigerians believe that the problem with structure is that it may be made rather than given.
