Miss Jessica Okonye, a pupil in JSS 1, has been given “admission” to the Admiralty University of Nigeria in Ibusa, Delta state, as an auditor student.
Professor (Chief) John Alizor, a retired American university professor, discovered Miss Okonye to be unusually bright and granted her “admission”.
how it all began
At a shop where she was an intern, she is alleged to have shocked the retired Professor. He immediately showed interest in her and began mentoring her.
She eventually received academic tasks from the professor and was admitted to the “auditor-ship” as a result of this.
She talked with university administration, who reportedly thought her academic abilities were quite adequate before she was given the chance to apply.
An auditor student is a who?
“The Vice Chancellor acknowledged Jessica’s brilliance as a young person. He continued by saying that Jessica can be admitted to ADUN as an auditor pending the results of any additional assessments of her capacity to handle the demands of a university student without having completed her post-primary education.
He continued by saying that, in this instance, an auditor is a person who has been “allowed” to attend university lectures without necessarily intending to graduate with certificates. “Jessica has arrived to the proper place as a first choice center for her academic pursuit, as leadership is the major focus of our institution,” said Professor Paul Omaji.
Jessica Okonye will be the first Nigerian to be admitted at that age into a Nigerian university if she successfully completes this stage and later receives full admission.
